Since launching in 2023, the FRESH Express Route is proving to be an invaluable resource, increasing access to fresh, nutritious food for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across the state and supporting local producers.

Initially piloted in October 2023, the FRESH Express Route allows Food Bank of Wyoming to distribute fresh produce to Hunger Relief Partners around the state more frequently. The route also enables Food Bank of Wyoming to pick up produce from local growers and producers to distribute Wyoming-grown food directly to communities. The success of the FRESH Express Route demonstrates Food Bank of Wyoming’s commitment to provide fresh, nourishing food to Wyoming neighbors.

By providing Hunger Relief Partners with fresh, high-quality food, the FRESH Express Route plays an essential role in addressing the health risk factors associated with poor diets and limited access to fresh fruits and vegetables. The innovative approach has increased access to nutritious food for communities in Wyoming, providing one million pounds of fresh produce since launching a year and a half ago.

FRESH Express currently reaches 20 of Wyoming’s 23 counties. As the program continues to grow, Food Bank of Wyoming remains committed to supporting Hunger Relief Partners and ensuring Wyoming families have access to the food they need to thrive, focusing on optimizing route delivery, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
