Food for Kids
Food Bank of Wyoming’s Food for Kids programs provide much-needed stable, nutritious meals and snacks to kids experiencing hunger, freeing them to focus on growth and learning rather than worrying about where their next meal will come from.
Children eat up to 50% of their total daily calories at school. But when the weekend comes or when school is out for summer, families who rely on school meals have to find ways to fill the gap.
Through Food Bank of Wyoming’s signature program, Totes of Hope®, we meet our neighbors where they are. Each Friday ahead of the weekend, students are sent home with a tote full of enough food for seven meals. Even during the summer months, totes are available for kids at Hunger Relief Partner sites that participate in the program year-round, including schools, libraries, community centers, and more.
These totes are made up of shelf-stable and nutritious food, recipes for the whole family, notes of encouragement, and other preparation tips to help our neighbors make the most of the items in their tote.

Johnson County Friends Feeding Friends
Through Food Bank of Wyoming’s Totes of Hope® program, Johnson Friends Feeding Friends receives enough nutritious food to fill 130-140 bags a week for children. They’ve been doing this since 2018. These bags contain ingredients and recipes for easy-to-prepare, kid-friendly meals, helping reduce the burden for families struggling to make ends meet.
