Dear Hunger Relief Partners, |
As we step into the new year, it is nice to reflect on the past year of achievements and contemplate opportunities for the future. Take a moment to pause and recognize the great importance of your work: the lives you touch, the people you feed, and the actual impact you have on our communities. The relationships you build, the trust you instill, the hours you log in all kinds of weather, and the engagement from start to finish are both inspirational and motivational.
This massive undertaking of working together to feed our Wyoming neighbors, with all of its complexity, remarkable orchestration, and insatiable dedication that each one of you brings to this endeavor, is evident in everything you do! We at Food Bank of Wyoming are grateful for your wisdom and experience and look forward to what 2023 has in store for us all. Together our future is bright, and the sky is the limit! With gratitude and warm wishes for a joyful new year,
The Food Bank of Wyoming Team |

Growth from a Mobile Pantry Partner to a Multi-Program Partner Agency |
In 2015 a local pastor determined that the existing food resources in Goshen County were insufficient to meet the need, so he reached out to Food Bank of Wyoming. Together, we created a plan to nourish individuals and families facing food insecurity in Goshen County. With funding from many local businesses and volunteers across the county, the pastor scheduled “pop-up” mobile pantries in tandem with Food Bank of Wyoming as often as possible.
WYO HELP began serving Goshen County as Goshen HELP in October 2018, first taking over operating the mobile pantries and soon opening a physical food pantry that replaced the mobile pantry trucks. Mobile pantries are still brought in as needed, but now most of WYO HELP’s food services are provided through their pantry, located at 1933 Main Street in Torrington.
Many of WYO HELP’s clients are older adults who depend on the pantry to supplement their fixed budgets. Recently, they’ve also seen more working families struggling to cover their expenses. On average, the WYO HELP pantry serves 300 unique families each year using a shopper's choice model. The food pantry is funded 100% through donations. This allows WYO HELP to assist anyone seeking food assistance. They also provide food through TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program), which requires an income qualification. This dual programming allows them to offer more to the people who need it most.

Keep Your Listing Current!
The Find Food page on our website is designed to be a comprehensive list of pantries and meal programs families can use to identify neighborhood resources. Thousands of people rely on this resource for locations, times, and eligibility requirements; however, this information is only as accurate as the information we receive from partners. Please use this link to check your program and verify that your listing is correct.
If you want to change your listing or do not see your program listed and would like to be added, please fill out the form and email it back to helpdesk@WyomingFoodBank.org, and we will update your information. |
| Wyoming Food Coalition Conference
If you didn’t get a chance to join the 4th Annual Wyoming Food Coalition Conference in December, you can watch the panel recording. CNP and several of its partners around the state participated in this food insecurity panel, discussing the current state of food insecurity in Wyoming, and, more importantly, starting a conversation about solutions for the future. We would love to help keep the conversation going!
Watch the recording and then share your insights with the Wyoming Food Coalition page. |

Meet Waverly!
You are probably familiar with Waverly Polak Stevens from her work as a HelpDesk Specialist for the past nine months. We are happy to announce that Waverly is now our HelpDesk Programs Support Associate. With a master’s degree in professional studies in community development, Waverly is dedicated to helping and serving others.
If you have chatted with Waverly for any length of time, it is obvious that her Alabama roots are strong. But don’t let that polite mild manner fool you! Waverly knows her way around Agency Express, CERES, and, soon, Link2Feed. It was her love of the outdoors that brought her to Wyoming, but it’s supporting Wyoming’s Hunger Relief Partners that has convinced her to stay. |

For the first time in recent history, $1 now is only able to distribute enough food for 3 meals, not 4 — an enormous shift and the result of increased need, a rise in food and fuel costs, and a reduction in donated and government commodity food supplies. Check out our full Impact Report for FY22!
