We Need Your Help!

Dear Valued Partners,

With more than 150 Hunger Relief Partners across the state placing orders with Food Bank of Wyoming each month, timely ordering is essential to ensuring smooth operations and equitable service. Submitting your orders on time allows our team to plan efficiently, schedule trucks, and ensure that food is available when and where it is most needed.

We encourage you to mark your calendar with your order deadlines each month. Doing so helps avoid last-minute challenges and ensures we can meet your needs effectively.

If you need assistance with your order, our Help Desk team is here to support you. To provide the best service possible, we kindly ask that you reach out early so we have adequate time to assist before your order deadline.

Your partnership and cooperation make a tremendous difference in nourishing our Wyoming neighbors. Thank you for your continued dedication to serving your community and for helping us keep processes running smoothly for all.

September is Hunger Action Month!

Food insecurity in America has reached its highest rate in over a decade, reaching over 47 million people facing hunger, including 14 million children. In Wyoming, 1 in 7 individuals and 1 in 5 children face food insecurity. Wyoming ranks in the top 10 highest food insecurity rates in the nation.

With the largest changes to SNAP and Medicaid in history now signed into law, food and health care will soon be further out of reach for millions of people — including children. Hunger in America is a crisis, and it's only together that we can meet the challenge of this moment head on.

Here are the ways you can get involved during Hunger Action Month:

  • Encourage your community to volunteer at your organization!
  • Raise your voice for people experiencing food insecurity. Reach out to your senators, representatives, and local officials to ask them to say “yes” to policies that will put more food on more tables.

Thank you for being a partner and nourishing your community. We couldn't do this work without you!

New Team Member Update

Welcome Bryan Wilemon – Driving Our Mission Forward

We are excited to introduce Bryan Wilemon, the newest driver joining our team. With 24 years of driving experience under his belt, Bryan is both highly skilled and deeply committed to making a difference in the community. His strong work ethic and reliability make him a perfect fit for our mission of delivering food to the people who need it most.

Bryan’s life journey has taken him from Wyoming, where he spent his early years, to Mississippi, before finally returning here in April. These experiences have shaped him into someone who values hard work, adaptability, and the importance of helping others. Beyond his professional experience, Bryan brings to his role a positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and dedication to supporting the Wyoming community. Every delivery he makes is a contribution to the well-being of our neighbors, and we are grateful to have him on board.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Bryan to our team! His presence strengthens our mission and reminds us all of the difference one committed individual can make.

Summer Food Transportation Tip

It’s all about keeping it cool!
Whether it’s dry goods in your pantry or fresh food on the go, keeping items at the right temperature means top-notch quality and food safety.

Remember the magic numbers:

Freezer: 0°F or below

Refrigerator: 32–40°F

Dry storage: 50–70°F

When transporting food from our distribution center or a drop-off point to a distribution site, keep it cool with tools like insulated blankets, coolers, dry ice, or refrigerated trucks — they’re your food safety all-stars.

Food safety keeps our network strong and our community healthy. If you are not currently filling out temperature logs, hop over to our website for copies.

It takes a community to feed a community — thank you for making every degree count!

Happy National Food Bank Day!

September 10 marks National Food Bank Day!

National Food Bank Day is a time to celebrate the vital role food banks play in nourishing our neighbors and strengthening communities. As Wyoming’s primary distribution food bank, this day is especially meaningful. It’s a reminder of our mission to serve every corner of the state, ensuring that fresh, nutritious food reaches families, older adults, and individuals who need it most. Together with our network of local partners, volunteers, and supporters, we’re working every day to make sure no one in Wyoming goes hungry. On National Food Bank Day, we honor that commitment and the incredible people like you who help make it possible.

Partner Spotlight:
Central Wyoming Senior Services, Inc.

Central Wyoming Senior Services (CWSS) is dedicated to serving adults age 60 and over in Natrona County by providing and connecting them with community services and resources that help maintain dignity and independence. Through qualified and trained staff, CWSS supports older adults in meeting their nutritional, educational, social, emotional, financial, and recreational needs. Programs include nutrition, activity, and in-home services designed to enhance quality of life and promote healthy aging.

Programs at Central Wyoming Senior Services:

Nutrition Program
Hot, nutritious meals are served six days a week at CWSS's main center, with a suggested donation of $6. For many older adults, this is often the only hot meal they receive in a day. CWSS also provides nutrition education to help older community members live a healthy lifestyle.

Activity Program
Staying active is key to healthy aging — after all, a body in motion stays in motion! The activity program helps older adults remain engaged and moving through chair exercises, chair yoga, card games, bingo, craft classes, billiards, and much more.

In-Home Services
Two programs are offered, each designed to support older adults and their caregivers:

–Independent Living Support: Helps clients remain in their homes by providing light housekeeping, laundry, linen changes, meal preparation, CNA services, and respite care.

–Caregiver Support: Assists caregivers by providing the same in-home services listed above so they can take a much-needed break, reduce burnout, and maintain their own health.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Food Bank of Wyoming aspires to meet individuals where they are with the foods they need based on their unique circumstances and culture. We show up for any person experiencing hunger knowing that food insecurity can impact any of us at various points in our lives. Today, we may be packing produce for a person facing an unforeseen health crisis and tomorrow we may be providing a weekend food bag to a child whose caregiver may be struggling to find a well-paying job. The circumstances may be different, but we never waver from our mission of igniting the power of community to nourish people facing hunger.
