State of Wyoming Funding

Governor Gordon has announced emergency funding to support Hunger Relief Partners in communities affected by the loss of benefits. The State will be contacting organizations directly that may qualify for or be impacted by this funding.

At Food Bank of Wyoming, we are working to ensure that food remains available in our warehouse and are adjusting ordering windows as needed so you can continue to serve your neighbors throughout the month. We will share additional updates as soon as more information becomes available.

IMPORTANT CHANGE TO ORDERING

The Food Bank of Wyoming is changing our order window, starting  December 1st. The order window will be shortened to 5 business days to streamline the ordering process, reduce order errors, and improve efficiency and accuracy.

You will continue to follow your current delivery or pick up schedule and place orders on the deadline date listed. The important change will be the time available to order. You will now have less time to order. The order window will open at 4 pm the day before your order deadline, which ends at 2 pm.

  • Day 1 Order Deadline Date
    • Submit order before 2 PM (or after 4 PM the evening before).
  • Day 2 Preparation
    • Orders are pulled and organized.
  • Day 3 Continued Preparation
    • Extra time may be needed for partner and program orders.
  • Day 4 Staging
    • Orders are loaded or staged for next-day delivery/pick-up.
  • Day 5 Fulfillment
    • Orders are delivered or picked up.

Orders submitted after 2 PM or with incorrect dates will be rejected.

Weekends and holidays are not included in the 5-day cycle

Keep your route and pick-up schedules on hand to confirm deadlines.

We know this is a significant change to how you currently order. We will send a reminder by email and help you mark your calendar for accurate orders.

Pallet Stacking 101

Please help our amazing drivers to keep them safe and on time for other partners by stacking pallets properly!

Please make sure the pallets you want picked up are in good shape, and stacked neatly! This stack will require the driver to manually re-stack and load onto the trailer. It loses valuable time and is a hazard for both the driver and others.

Instead, please neatly stack the pallets in good condition and separate the blue pallets from the brown. This helps us a great deal and your wonderful drivers will appreciate this effort on your part to make their job a little easier!

Food Rescue in Wyoming

She is the point of contact for retail food rescue on the Western side of the state, covering:

Park, Big Horn, Washakie, Hot Springs, Fremont, Teton, Sublette, Lincoln, Sweetwater, and Uinta Counties.

Amber Freestone, Retail Rescue Coordinator, will be the point of contact for retail food rescue on the Eastern side of the state, covering Sheridan, Johnson, Campbell, Crook, Weston, Niobrara, Goshen, Platte, Laramie, Albany, Carbon, Natrona, and Johnson Counties.

November Partner Spotlight:

Riverton Senior Center

The Riverton Senior Center is a warm and welcoming gathering place for local seniors—a true hub for community connection, wellness, and independence. Open Monday through Friday, the Center serves a delicious, nutritious lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., offering neighbors a chance to share a meal and conversation.

For those who are unable to visit in person, the Center’s Meals on Wheels program ensures homebound seniors still receive fresh, healthy meals delivered right to their doors. Transportation is also made easy through a partnership with Riverton Public Transit, allowing seniors to schedule rides to and from the Center.

Every day brings something new at the Riverton Senior Center—whether it’s exercise classes, games, or educational activities designed to keep both mind and body active. In addition, Wyoming 211 maintains an office on-site to help individuals navigate local services and resources.

As our population ages, it’s more important than ever to support local senior centers like Riverton’s. They play a vital role in keeping our communities connected, active, and thriving.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Food Bank of Wyoming aspires to meet individuals where they are with the foods they need based on their unique circumstances and culture. We show up for any person experiencing hunger knowing that food insecurity can impact any of us at various points in our lives. Today, we may be packing produce for a person facing an unforeseen health crisis and tomorrow we may be providing a weekend food bag to a child whose caregiver may be struggling to find a well-paying job. The circumstances may be different, but we never waver from our mission of igniting the power of community to nourish people facing hunger.
