Giving Thanks and Gratitude |
As we approach the Thanksgiving season, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for all that you do. Your dedication and compassion have a profound impact on the lives of Wyoming neighbors facing food insecurity, especially during this time of year when the need is often greatest.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of getting to engage with you and your organization, help out at mobile pantries, and connect with neighbors who rely on the vital food and services that together we are providing. Hearing firsthand about the challenges people face and the rising need in our communities has reinforced how critical our partnership is.
At Food Bank of Wyoming, we are committed to standing alongside you to meet these growing needs, ensuring that everyone in our state has access to the food and resources they deserve. Together, we are making a meaningful difference, and we couldn’t do it without your unwavering support and dedication.
As we each continue to provide assistance to Wyoming neighbors facing hard times, Food Bank of Wyoming could not be more thankful for your partnership! Thank you for all you do to bring hope and nourishment to so many. Wishing you a season filled with gratitude and joy.

Potatoes, Potatoes, Potatoes! |
On October 29, Food Bank of Wyoming, in partnership with First Lady Jennie Gordon, the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, Cent$ible Nutrition, and Saratoga Middle/High School students and staff, braved the season’s first snowfall to sort and bag potatoes generously donated by Silver Spur Ranch to support Wyomingites facing hunger. Silver Spur Ranches donated an acre's worth of potatoes, yielding approximately 8,473 pounds of fresh produce for food pantries across Wyoming.
FFA students from Saratoga Middle/High School led classmates through a hands-on lesson on selecting quality potatoes, and together they loaded bags with about 10 pounds each. Food Bank of Wyoming provided produce bags and assisted with loading the potatoes into bins, while students teamed up with friends and teachers to prepare the produce for distribution.
For potato recipes, please visit the Cent$ible Nutrition recipe guide.

Partner Highlight: Foundations for Nations |
The Foundations for Nations (FFN) Food Pantry was started in 2018, when pastors Jason and Sarah Lucas saw a need to feed the neighbors in Riverton and the Wind River Reservation. They partnered with Food Bank of Wyoming and have been helping fight food insecurity in the surrounding community ever since. The FFN Food Pantry began in a small space and last year moved into a larger location right next door. They are already starting to outgrow the new space as the need in their community continues to grow.
FFN Food Pantry assists their patrons by shopping with them. This offers a personal connection to folks who may need a kind word or a listening ear. Currently, they have 12 volunteers who help shop with the patrons. With Food Bank of Wyoming deliveries, FFN Food Pantry is able to feed a vast number of people, including children, older neighbors, and anyone else in need of food. The majority of the food the pantry purchases comes from Food Bank of Wyoming, but they do see donations from other sources in the community, too. The pantry is also able to provide non-food items such as toothbrushes, diapers, soap, and more because community donations. FFN Food Pantry's partnership with the Food Bank has tremendously helped to serve the residents of Fremont County!

Fall & Winter Tips
As we move into the colder fall and winter months, please note that Food Bank of Wyoming may make closure determinations. We will post closure information on our website and social media pages. Please ensure that accommodations are in place for volunteers and neighbors to stay safe and warm while attending food distributions. |
| We have these tips for fall/winter distributions: -
Continue to record and maintain freezer and cooler temperatures
- Clean and sanitize surfaces often
- Wash hands often with soap and water, especially after handling any food product
- Have hand sanitizer and face masks available for those who want them
- Bundle up by wearing a hat and gloves when outdoors
- Take care of yourself both physically and mentally!

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
Food Bank of Wyoming aspires to meet individuals where they are with the foods they need based on their unique circumstances and culture. We show up for any person experiencing hunger knowing that food insecurity can impact any of us at various points in our lives. Today, we may be packing produce for a person facing an unforeseen health crisis and tomorrow we may be providing a weekend food bag to a child whose caregiver may be struggling to find a well-paying job. The circumstances may be different, but we never waver from our mission of igniting the power of community to nourish people facing hunger.
