Would you like to make a difference in your community while pursuing your career passion? Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies is seeking a Over-the-Road Driver (Class A) to join our team!

More than 65 million pounds of food flow through our operation every year, feeding hungry families in our surrounding communities. Our small and mighty team of 100+ employees across four locations, collectively serves 30 counties in Colorado and the entire state of Wyoming. We provide more than 145,000 meals each day to our friends and neighbors facing hunger.

The Over-the-Road Driver is responsible for delivering and picking up food product from various locations in the across the state of Wyoming. This position is responsible for ensuring that all deliveries are in accordance with Feeding America requirements and FBR policies. This role regularly interacts with volunteers, partner agencies and the general public delivering product in a safe and timely manner while following Department (DOT) regulations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintains a complete understanding of DOT regulations around the usage of Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and Hours of Service (HOS).
  • Performs DOT pre-trip safety check inspections of truck and trailer.
  • Transport and deliver orders to meet the scheduled customer times, provide estimated time of arrival to each agency in advance of arrival and maintain adequate productivity rate to meet delivery schedules.
  • May drive in adverse weather conditions if roads remain open.
  • Visually survey the delivery site during approach to identify potential hazards.
  • Unload products from trailer and place items in designated customer storage area.
  • Verify delivery of correct items with customer and obtain appropriate signatures.
  • Backhaul as assigned: empty pallets from customer sites, donated product/grocery items from retail grocery establishments, etc.
  • Perform all post-trip responsibilities: unloading damaged goods and/or customer returns and complete necessary paperwork. Perform safety checks on truck and trailer; fuel as required, park and secure tract, trailer and pallet jack; complete vehicle maintenance reports.
  • Attend required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
  • Three to four days per month overnight travel required (more may be required in specific situations).
  • Work in warehouse as necessary building orders, loading and unloading orders, assist with loading agencies, cleaning and warehouse maintenance, cleaning and maintenance of tractors and trailers.
  • Diplomatically interact with agencies and donors. Report any issues to supervisor.
  • Requires some flexible hours and some weekends are necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and excellent driving record
  • Minimum 2 years’ prior experience as Commercial Driver
  • Prior experience working in a warehouse environment strongly preferred
  • Forklift experience and certification a plus
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently, and communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level; bilingual a plus

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the warehouse and transportation operations of receiving and distribution of product, food storage, inventory control, food deliveries and pickups, fleet maintenance, building and grounds and safety and sanitation standards. Leads the operations department in accordance with FBR and Feeding America (FA) specifications.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manages the personnel team including warehouse, inventory and drivers and trains/monitors same personnel for outstanding customer service.
  • Manages the activities involved in the efficient movement of product including receipt, storage, and distribution maximizing space, resources and avoiding waste or damages.
  • Assign drivers and routing trucks for pickup, delivery and mobile pantry’s; uses Fleetmatics to monitor driver quality.
  • Manages fleet for repairs and maintenance schedule. Ensures that all equipment is maintained and safe for operators.
  • Maintain orderly warehouse to ensure efficient storage and distribution line.
  • Works with community relations specialist to recruit, train and manage volunteers.
  • Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive safety program for employees and volunteers.
  • Responsible for maintaining food industry standards for safety, proper product handling, storage and warehouse sanitation along with educating staff.
  • In conjunction with Community Relations Specialist, coordinates volunteer efforts in warehouse/building and grounds.
  • Maintains building, equipment and grounds maintenance; ensures all required inspections and sanitation schedules as set by company, regulatory or other agencies are adhered to.
  • Manages the ordering of food product with the FBR Distribution Center and consults with FBR COO on purchase of other food items.
  • Supervises warehouse, distribution, transportation drivers and inventory personnel.
  • Prepare annual budget in cooperation with WFBR director and FBR COO.
  • As needed, attend outside networking opportunities to develop and encourage resource building and sharing within the community.
  • Other duties as assigned or delegated.

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management systems
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
